Hi all,
Where did the time go?! Sorry I haven't updated in a while, we are right in the middle of finalizing our plans for the two fundraising events we're doing, to be held on April 20th and 27th. More details to come, including a flyer, times, locations, race registration, etc.
I really want to thank everyone that has helped so far, there are so many details that go into making these things happen and I know we couldn't do this without you, so thank you! And thank you to all of you that have already donated, you are truly amazing and it means so much to my family.
I'll update again soon~

Hi all,
I'm so sorry! I guess we have everyone pretty freaked out. My dad is not dying, we are just doing a fundraiser in preparation for the bills to come after his transplant and it takes time to plan and raise money so we got the ball rolling...
My dad has been really fortunate to not feel sick at all. He will have a transplant in the near future, but there's no need to worry. He's very healthy other than his kidney's and has a great team of doctors behind him.
Apologetically yours,
Lauren

This post is an effort to help those of you visiting this blog get to know my dad (if you don't know him already). I had all these grand ideas about writing all my favorite stories of him and all the great things he does, which I will start to do, but in true English teacher fashion, I decided I would like this to be an assignment for all of you as well...
In the comments:
Please tell your favorite Sanford story, or a special memory you have of him, something he did to inspire you, or your favorite Sanford quote.
Don't worry about making it long. Short and sweet is just as welcome as long and detailed.
To start things off...
Here is something my dad told me as when I was 18 and getting ready to take my Young Women to girls camp:
"Have a wicked good time at camp. Remember you are shaping the future of these young ladies. Teach them to have FUN!"
He inspired me and made me feel like I could make a difference. I ultimately decided I wanted to teach after working with those amazing girls.
Now it's your turn! Share something that you think shows who Sanford is :)
Peace and blessings everyone, and thank you in advance for your comments... ;)

You're not donating into thin air, it's for my Dad I swear!
So here it goes... With the help of my brilliant and sweet friend Ashley Frederickson, I can now update everyone about my Dad via this blog! My wonderful Dad, Sanford Lewis, has PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease) and needs a kidney transplant. PKD is a genetic disease and if you'd like to lose your appetite google what a polycystic kidney looks like... Anyway, thank you so much to everyone out there that has shown so much love to our family! You're all amazing and have been so much help already! Everyone is asking for assignments, so here it is for now... Spread the word!
Love,
Lauren
